I’m still not over purple, at all. So today I come back at you with some Purple & Green Halloween Manicures tutorials. For this nail look I brought out one of my favorite polishes, Finger Paint Picturesque Purple. I adore this polish, its a gorgeous cream purple.
I really love the stitched french tipped looks that usually are popular this time of year, so I decided to try out out for myself. To start, I used Orly Thrill Seeker and applied it to the tips of my nails in slanted strokes to create a bit more of a whimsical look. Next, I did two coats on the tips to get the bright color payoff that I was hoping for. I was quite pleasantly surprised at how well this color did over the purple. To complete the look, I used China Glaze Liquid Leather and a thin brush to create little short stitch strokes and topped with Seche Vite.
I was pretty pleased with the look. I like the stark contrast I got while still feeling pretty into the Halloween spirit!
Although, when I went to do my left hand…I messed up on one of the finger nails. So instead of replicating the same look, I decided to go with a slightly different design. I went ahead and applied the polish thickly to the other nails and then grabbed one of my dotting tools. Next, I messily dotted and dragged the color up towards the tips. I know usually the polish drip look is done from the cuticle down to the tips, but I actually am feeling the the tip to cuticle look. Now that I look at this again, it kind of reminds me of Nickelodeon’s slime from the 90’s. Splash this over an orange background and we may have a 90’s throwback mani!
What do you think? Do you like stitches or drips? Thanks for dropping by, I hope you guys have an awesome week and I’ll see you guys here next week!
