Halloween Nails: Bats and Pumpkins

Hello!

And welcome back to my little corner of the internet. This week we continue on with the ever so fun Halloween theme. This past week I have been completely feeling the color purple and wanted to incorporate this to this week’s mani.

I went with China Glaze Bizzar Blurple, a gorgeous deep purple with a blue shimmer shift. I love this polish, its one of the ones I don’t dust off the shelves often enough. For my ring finger, I went with two coats of Butter London’s Silly Willy.  To create some depth and texture, I sponged a tiny bit of China Glaze’s Liquid Leather on the sides of the ring finger.

For nail art, I decided to stamp the all over nail pumpkin design from the FabUrNails FUN4 plate on the ring finger with black stamping polish. For the rest of the nails, I used the bat design from MoYou London’s Gothic Collection 05 Plate at random angles.

I am actually  pretty happy with how this nail look ended up looking. While the bats are bit subtle and hard to see in these photos, I like how they peaked out in direct sunlight. I tried to take a picture of this out in the sun, but didn’t photograph as well as I would have liked.

Speaking photographing issues, my usual camera was having issues reading the color of China Glaze’s Bizarre Blurple. It ended up picking it up as more of an indigo hue. The picture above was photographed with my iphone to show a more true to life color, but the picture below was pictured with my bugging camera. When I saw the color read, I actually sat there and thought “wow…should have gone with blue, it actually looks pretty darn good!”

Do you like the true to life deep purple version or the dark indigo blue instead? Also, can you think of a solid real life dupe for this color?
