Soft Understated Glam Nails

Hello!

Happy Tuesday and welcome back once more! This week I return to you with another simplistic nail look to share with you. While thinking of what I wanted to open up with this week, I found myself unsure of what to be inspired by. I knew I wanted something that said fall. When I start to think of early fall style, I get images of neutrals, matte textures, cozy sweaters, and lattes.

Thinking of these imagery, I grabbed All Eyes on Nudes from Essie’s 2015 fall Cashmere Mattes collection. Perfect for thoughts of matte neutral cozy sweater wearing latte drinking, right? Although the formula for this collection can be a bit streaky and hard to work with at times, I managed to get away with two coats.

I wanted a soft contrast (oxymoron anyone?) and decided to add some glitter accents. I applied one application of Julep in Beatrice on my ring finger over the existing coat of All Eyes on Nudes. I then sponged Beatrice over the base of the rest of my nails. I then grabbed a thin brush with some polish and dragged it down towards the tip of the nail to create some falling glitter. Although with the colors being a bit similar, it may be a little difficult to see in the photos. But It looks quite lovely when the light catches it!

I topped everything with China Glaze’s Matte Magic, glitter and all to retain that soft feel. I know its a subtle effect, but personally, I am a big fan of matte glitter. I think this look could work for a lot of fall/winter events. I may even redo this for thanksgiving 🙂

So, do you like your glitter to shimmer and shine like a diamond? Or are you also partial to a soft and understated glam look? Let me know 🙂

Again, as always, thanks for stopping by!

XoXo
