I’m back! Last week I debuted my new series, Good Polished Hunting, where I share the finds I come across at shops like Marshalls, TJMaxx, and more!
I love Ulta, its one of my favorite stores to stalk for good deals. With their frequent coupons, deals, and multi point events, its hard to resist not stalking the aisles of Ulta for a good find.
After striking out at the NYX section of the store (Lip Lingerie..why u no in stock ever??), I decided to see what was hiding out in the polish section. Below the permanent and current limited edition there were two small displays with their sale polish. The displays are filled with OPI, China Glaze, Essie, CND, Whim, and a few others.
The prices of these polishes were ranging from somewhere between $1-$5.
I actually spotted one of my favorite polishes on the display! I purchased Esse’s Just Stitched some time ago and totally feel in love with it! I adored the soft matte pink with subtle shimmer, I’m actually half way done with my current bottle, although that may be because its usually a three coater. Regardless, I adore it and decided it to pick up a backup, especially since it was just $2.07! Looking around, I noticed they essentially had both the original Cashmere Mattes and the Cashmere Mattes Bright collection, each for only $2.07. I decided to pick up eight of the bottles based off of my love for Just Stitched.
Essie Soft as Sad is a very pale pink (almost white) polish with fine shimmer and a matte finish.
Essie Just Stitched is a baby pink polish with fine shimmer and a matte finish.
Essie Hip Tid is a bubble gum pink polish with fine shimmer and a matte finish.
Essie Yespadrilles is a lovely pastel mint green polish with fine shimmer and a matte finish.
Essie Sea the Sights is a light sky blue with with fine shimmer and a matte finish.
Essie Coat Couture is a steel grey with some lilac undertones with fine shimmer and a matte finish.
Essie Spun in Lux is a black polish with fine blue shimmer and a matte finish.
The Essie Cashmere mattes collection has a very beautiful finish in my opinion. I love them as they are, but they are also quite lovely with a high shine top coat, such as Seche Vite. The downside of these polishes is that half of these do require three coats because the formula may apply slightly lumpy and is smoothed out after three coats. But really, for $2.07, these are a steal! I welcome them into my collection!
Next, I also picked up a few other polishes.
Here we have China Glaze in Daisy Know My name, a creme bright yellow polish.
China Glaze in License & Registration, a bright cobalt blue. Funny story! Right before heading to Ulta, I went in for a pedicure and picked this exact same polish. As the lady applied the polish to my toes, I was admiring the color wishing I had it in my collection. Half an hour later, I found it at Ulta for just $1.87!! Crazy, right??
And lastly, I grabbed a polish from Whim in Firecracker Fury, a bright fire engine red polish with metallic shimmer which was also on sale for $1.78!
I’ve always been a fan of China Glaze, the formula is pretty smooth and is usually pretty opaque after two coats. I’m also pretty happy with my purchase from Whim, it was easy to apply and streak marks where fairly minimal.
I’m totally happy and excited about all of my Ulta polishes. Not swatched is the OPI Be Bold Mini set, purchased because…mini sets get me all the time -.- haha. My total after tax and my $10 off anything birthday code, these polishes all rang up for only $19.68!
Have you tried any of these polishes? What are your thoughts?
Thanks for reading! I’ll see you later this week with a nail art post!
