YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer & Perfecter

I, without a doubt, have been totally MIA for a while. I originally wanted to post a lot more but there were things that prevented me from doing so 🙁
I have received my third box from Influenster, so you know what that means…Review time! 😀

I was super stoked to receive Influenster’s first YSL VoxBox a few months ago and was super extra excited to hear that I would be getting the second YSL as well. This second box contained two different products; a sample size of YSL’s Touche Eclat Blur and a full sized YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter. These two are relatively new products so I was pretty pumped to give them a go, but did they perform? Let’s see!

First up we have YSL’s Touche Eclat Blur Primer:

What it is:
An illuminating primer that blurs any imperfections to give you a wonderfully even and luminous complexion. The sample is packaged in a luxurious looking clear bottle and topped with their signature gold cap. The bottle is filled with a clear primer with suspended flecks of gold glitter.

The good:
When applied with the right amount, the formula of this primer will feel absolutely velvety and silky on your skin.
Enriched with nourishing oils.
Blurs the appearance of pores and other imperfections to create a smooth canvas.
Can be used under makeup or alone.

The Bad:
If you apply too much of this primer it may feel a little heavy and greasy on your face.
I personally am not a fan of the glitter or shimmer in my primers, so unfortunately this is a downside for me.
I dislike the plastic spatula that the sample comes with (however this isn’t an issue for the full sized product, since that one comes with a pump dispenser).

Final thoughts:
This product does a fine job at what it is suppose to do. Apply the right amount of this on your face and you will have a gorgeously silky campus ready for a day of makeup. Although you can wear this product alone for an evened out complexion, I don’t see myself ever using this product alone because I am not a fan of the suspended gold flecks in this product. However, throw some foundation over that and I can rock a matte face for the rest of the day no problem.
Overall, I honestly think that this is a solid product, but not for the price tag it sports. But if you don’t mind the glitter and got some money burning in your pocket, splurge and enjoy the luxury!

Next up, YSL’s Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter:

What it is: A balm to powder product that will instantly blur any imperfections, add a subtle rosy glow, and mattify your complexion. This product can be used alone or used to set your makeup.

The good:
The balm to powder formula is incredibly silky.
This product blurs the appearance of pores and other imperfections.
The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and has a high end feel.
The mirror is large, perfect for when using to touch up.
Universal shade.
The bad:
My biggest complaint against this product is that the sponge that it comes with is terrible. When I used it to set my makeup, it actually disturbed the makeup underneath.
The compact doesn’t have space to store the Sponge, instead it has to be stored inside the ouch that is included with the compact & sponge.
Didn’t notice any ‘rosy glow’

Final thoughts:
As you can see, my biggest complaint against this product is the sponge it comes with. I personally dislike the sponge and how it applies the product onto your face. Since it isn’t stored inside the compact, I worry about the sponge getting dirty and I don’t believe the included pouch does anything to help keep it clean.
I prefer to apply this product with my fingers. I find that it does in fact soften the appearance of lines and pores. Because of this, I find that I tend to use this underneath my eyes, since that’s where I have fine lines. This product is also great if you suffer from oiliness and need to touch up your T-Zone during the day.
If you use this product alone, do apply in a sweeping motion, but if you apply it over your make up I find that a patting motion works best to avoid messing up your precious hard work underneath.
Overall, despite the horrible sponge, I enjoyed YSL’s Touche Eclat Blur Perfecter. Its a lightweight product that doesn’t feel slick or heavy on your skin. It promises a matte and silky complexion and that is exactly what it delivers. Also, did you see the packaging? I can’t lie, I feel absolutely fabulous when I use this to touch up or just check myself in the mirror for a second. YSL never seems to fail to make me feel sophisticated whenever I use one of their products. I would recommend this product, however I must warn anyone interested of its luxury brand price tag.

Thanks again to Influenster for feeding my YSL addiction by sending me these products to for review and testing purposes. I just loved trying them out!!
